The Mesuro model portfolio has a number of models each targeted at the end use, these range from the direct data look up approach of the Cardiff DWLU Model, for recreation of measured data; to Cardiff Model Lite, where the desired output is a local model; through to the Cardiff Model+ formulation, which incorporates higher order mixing terms.
The Cardiff Model+ formulation then has a number of unique benefits over alternative approaches such as X-paramter*, S-functions and Cardiff Model Lite, where formulations are truncated to the third order. Once the formulation is extended, the model moves away from a local model, where multiple models are required to define an impedance space (i.e load lookup), to a model that has a set of coefficients that fits the behaviour of a device over an impedance space. This dramatically reduces file size and also allows any interpolation to be defined by the model itself rather than relying upon the interpolation within the CAD environment.

Cardiff Model DWLU
The Cardiff Direct Waveform Look-Up model (DWLU model) is a data based model, which captures the behaviour of a DUT using the measured voltage and current waveforms directly.
Cardiff Model Lite
The ‘Cardiff Model Lite’ is a third order formulation that allows the extension of S-Parameters under Large Signal operation. It is a Polyharmonic Distortion (PHD) based behavioral model formulation, based upon the harmonic superposition principle.
The Cardiff model+ is a generalized solution using an Nth order ‘mixing’ parameter formulation and can be applied as a fundamental only mode or using the harmonic content and then easily extracted using the model generation tool and used within the EDA simulation environment.
